The metals & mining industry consists of the aluminum, iron & steel, precious metals & minerals, coal and base metal markets. Metal prices are influenced by a various factors.
Supply and Demand
Metal prices are determined by supply and demand, just like any other commodity. The greater the price, the higher the demand, the lesser the supply. Alternatively, the lower the price, the bigger the supply, and the lower the demand.
Metal prices are affected not only by present supply and demand, but also by anticipated supply and demand. The more information accessible, the better predictions may be made, and prices will be less volatile.
Industry Trends
The price of metal is also determined by the demand of the numerous sectors in which it is utilised. If the auto sector is doing well, for example, steel demand may rise; the same is true for construction, packaging, and other industries that rely significantly on metal.
Material Costs
Scrap metal and iron ore are two of the most common resources utilised in the production of finished metals. If there is a scarcity of these resources, demand will outstrip supply, raising the cost of materials.
Shipping Prices
